What I Think ABout Ed Tech Discussions

I want to scream! These people have no clue! They are the people who sat in the smart board introduction class and fought it all the way. It is crazy! These people need to wake up and starting thinking about the needs of students and not themselves. I use tech all the time in my classroom and still have TONS of student contact time. I know how to use the technology in my classroom so I don;t waste time getting it ready and wasting student learning time. My student's have extended learning because of the ipods, it is not replacing any student teacher contact time. I have a reading endorsement and use current best practices in my classroom. This is crazy, yo have a lot of work to do to convince these people that they need to start learning how to use tech and not fight it. It doesn't work!
I can't believe that these are pre service teachers, I wouldn't want any of them in my building...

I was wondering who you are talking about in this blog. We have not met you in our class, we were wondering if you could let us know a little bit more about yourself.

Thanx

i hope that you are much kinder to your students then you are to your peers.

those are some very bold and harsh statements to make, especially since everyone is constantly viewing eachothers blogs.

Since you have a good deal more experience in the classroom than most of us, your input has the potential to be a very valuable tool. Or it can be negative and hurtful.

The discussion board is inteneded to be a safe place for us to process information and throw around ideas, and learn from each other. I think you will find that most of us are open to new ideas and want what's best for our students, just like you.

Deciding that we are already unworthy of teaching by a few mere discussions does not seem accurate, or fair. We sure could use your continued positive unput instead of harsh criticism. We are all on the same team. You may have some years of experience under your belt, but at one time, you were in our shoes.

I hope to learn more about how you use technology in your classroom. You seem to have it well integrated already.
